Damon Eyes

Strawberry Singh Meme--My Three Second Life Wishes

Here we go with another meme from Ms. Singh.  This is also my attempt to learn to properly use photos in Live Journal, so we will see how it goes.

Meme instructions: Share three things you wish for or about your Second Life. They could be things you wish from Linden Lab, things you would like to have inworld, things you would like to do, or any kind of wishes you may have. Remember to leave your link in this meme’s post so others can come by and read your answers as well!

Wish 1:  This one's a no brainer.  I wish I could do everything in real life (aka First Life) that I can do in Second Life:  walking (especially in heels), running, dancing, flying, swinging easily on swings, fitting into bikinis, and easily dressing and undressing--not to mention doing my hair, which I have no talent for in real life.  I also wish I could do some things in Second Life that I can do in First Life, like eating, drinking and feeling hugs.  Essentially, I wish First and Second Life could merge, but since no one has invented Star Trek holodeck technology yet, I'm out of luck.

Wish 2:  I wish my friends in First Life would become interested in Second Life.  I'm in a situation right now in which only two of my friends actually live in my town.  I'm really blessed to have a lot of friends, but most of them live far away.  We communicate really well thanks to Skype, email, Facebook, and etc, but I would love it if we could hang out in Second Life.  They just aren't interested.  Many are too busy and don't want to get sucked in, some--gamer friends--would rather play World of Warcraft.  As one friend said, "I can't have fun if I'm not killing something."  Second Life's open-endedness is a turn-off to those friends, which is funny because that's one of the main things that attracts me.  Other friends just think Second Life is weird or are worried that if they log on, they will be constantly hit on by porn-addicts.  One friend helped her daughter do a report on Second Life for a Human Sexuality class and seemed to be surprised to learn from me that people do things in SL besides have pixel sex.  ::sigh::  I'm meeting some nice people inworld, but I'd still like some of the friends I've known the longest to share SL with me because it's become so important to me.  Oh well, friends don't have to understand each other's every hobby or participate in every activity together.  I understand that.  It would still be nice to have my First Life friends in SL though.

Wish 3: I wish my premium house were a beach house with an ocean view.  Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad I get a house with my premium membership.  I would probably never have had the courage or resources to own a house in Second Life otherwise, but I really, really, really want a beach house.  I don't understand why that can't be one of the options.  I recently gave up my Oahu rental, because, since I've been spending so much time in Marikesh Mondrago, paying so much in rent didn't seem like a wise expense.  I've kept my treehouse, of course.   I'd be so happy if it suddenly morphed into an Oahu-style beach cabin.  Pretty Please, Lindens??

Well that's my list!  This was a bit cathartic.  I think I will post another meme soon.  PS:  I'm still not organized enough for outfit credits.  If the pictures I've placed are actually accessible, and if you are that interested, comment and I will track down outfit details for you.  The pictures in this post were taken in Marikesh Mondrago, which is a lovely sim with a Steampunk/Moroccan theme.

Interesting Coincidence

I just recently visited a pretty forest sim called The Taiga for a horseback ride and snapped the pic below at a lodge there:

Where's Dim Sum? is one of my favorite Second Life blogs.  The author, Opal Lei, travels Second Life and takes pictures featuring a white cat named Dim Sum.  The job of readers is, of course, to find Dim Sum in each picture.  I was amazed to see when I checked the blog today, that Dim Sum just visited The Taiga! I wish I had met her there.

Changing Pictures

So, I decided to replace Damon the beautiful with one of my Second Life pictures.  This does NOT mean that I am not in love with Damon anymore, or that Vampire Diaries has fallen out of favor with me, but I've been posting a lot about Second Life lately, and The Vampire Diaries is off for the summer, so I thought I would change things up a bit.  This does NOT mean this blog is suddenly only going to be about Second Life.  If I did that, I'd lose the few readers I actually have, and anyway, my life isn't just about Second Life either.  This blog will continue to roam wildly around my mental landscapes--for better or worse.
