Unfinished Business

Well, Read-a-Real-Book Thursday has come around again, and I'm still not done with my first choice for the summer, which was Stormdancer by by Jay Kristoff, in case you've forgotten.  I'm about two thirds of the way through it, and I'm really enjoying it.  Yes, I used to read faster before I became caught up in the internet, blahdy, blahdy.  My current plan is to have the book finished and a review posted by Monday, so that I can start another book to post about for next Thursday. Anyway, in the meantime, I thought I would post the revision of a poem I've been working on.  I've decided that I'm going to start doing that regularly, as another way to make sure Second Life doesn't eat this journal.  I've also been inspired by my friend C, who has started doing the same on his blog.

This poem isn't actually getting too far away from Second Life, really, because it was inspired by a walk I took on Tempura Island, after a shopping trip I took thanks to this post by Strawberry Singh, and also resulted in the photo below:

Orange_005

So, without any more stalling, here's the poem:

Wear a Summer Frock

Orange.  And tote a matching pagoda parasol.
Walk in a Japanese garden.
Eat a vanilla ice cream cone
On the footbridge beside
The flowering cherry trees.
Have a secret.
Have two.
Listen to
the bees
Hum.
